Despite the objections of a few, I have decided that most of my blog will balance between personal life and political life. I was helped tremendously by the internet community in '04, mostly because we didn't close ranks like most campaigns and we allowed everyone access into our inner workings. It would have made a great reality show.
POLITICAL
-----------------
Anybody else enjoying the Tom DeLay show? I mean, we all KNOW he's possibly the most corrupt politician in the history of our great country. But he's made it INCREDIBLY easy to run as a Democrat in 2006.
We've all seen that the Republicans can say whatever they want and get away with it (*coughWMDcough*), but Americans are FAR from willing to stand for a man who takes a trip paid for by lobbyists working for the Russian government (he did do this, by the way). Among other recent accusations against DeLay include;
- His wife and daughter have been given a half-million dollars by his PAC and his campaign.
- Corporate lobbyists paid for a Vegas trip for 50-60 people after a demand by DeLay to do so.
Oh, there's lots more than that, and it's ALL piling up on him this week. Grab a chair and enjoy the show!
PERSONAL
----------------
Happy birthday Sarah Jordan! She's 27 (and holding) today.
Meanwhile, tomorrow I turn 36 (or, as I like to say it, I turn 29 for the 8th time). The plans include taking my daughter Charlotte out for pizza and visiting my parents. Charlotte's got gymnastics practice, so we'll get the festivities started after that.
Last night I went to the Cleveland Cavaliers/New Jersey Nets game. OK, so it turns out I only went to the Nets game, because the Cavs didn't show up. Final score, 111-80. Geez, this was the first game I have seen in the LeBron James era, and that's what happened? Yikes.
On the plus side, I did have a blast at the game. My "co-conspirator" (as I referred to her previously) and I cheered loudly and booed loudly when the situation required it (like when they forgot to keep somebody backcourt to catch the inbounds pass). She made the game a heck of a lot of fun when the home team couldn't do so. (By the way, sorry that Usher didn't show up)
I wanted to say that I wasted six hours of my life going to that game, but it's not true. Sure, the car trip was more fun than the game, but the whole evening was well worth it. If given the chance to do it again, I wouldn't hesitate. Count me in.
